The New York Highline Annex is a product of Core Design III Studio at The University of South Florida School of Architecture + Community Design. The Highline is New York City’s balance of nature and urbanism. It offers a pedestrian atmosphere like no other within the vast mix of monumental buildings.
The Annex is an annex of The NYC Pierpoint Morgan Library. The structure negotiates the limits of a vertical slot into the urban fabric of the city. The building focuses on the interrelation of interior spaces and circulation. The hierarchy of my structure was derived from the Morgan Library’s extensive collection of ancient carved seals and tablets.
